Andrius Mažeika

A photographer, author, and storyteller living in a Lithuanian village surrounded by forests, fields, and lakes. Although the landscape is often reflected in his photographs, his creative approach has been shaped not only by the place where he lives, but also by more than a decade of traveling, living, and working in different countries around the world.

During this time, he traveled throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America, and other regions. These experiences sparked Andrius’ interest in the relationship between people, places, and stories, and in how geography, culture, and political processes shape everyday life. These themes have become an important part of his documentary and artistic work.

His photography includes documentary projects, portraits, landscapes, and fine art photography. His works often bring together people, the environment, history, and form. In addition to photography, Andrius writes articles and essays on culture, politics, society, and travel, and he also gives lectures and participates in public discussions.

He is the creator of the first—and so far the only—long-term photography project in Lithuania focusing on Western Sahara. Photographs from the project were displayed at exhibitions in Lithuania and served as the basis for broader educational and public outreach activities.

Andrius Mažeika is currently working on long-term documentary projects, creating artistic photography, taking photographs for commissioned work, writing, and sharing his experiences at public events.
